Hola Rose,

We had such a great time we hardly have words to describe it. Thank you, thank you and thank you. We had so much fun for 11 straight days. I am so relaxed.......... starting and ending each of these glorious days from the deck of Suite #9, so hard to stay in bed and so hard to go to bed. Large flocks of frigets of some sort, glaring sun, the ocean, the mountains in the distance and not another human being to be seen. Anyway, here I go again.

Mucho mas gracias,
Jeff and Mary Kaye

In 2009 guests forwarded to us this report they wrote to TripAdvisor.com:

Our greatest find, in the five weeks we spent in Mazunte Beach on the Oaxacan coast was, without doubt, the Hotel Arigalan.

Arigalan is run and operated by owner Rose Guillen. The hotel is situated on top of a small hill between the villages of Mazunte and San Agustinillo. My wife and I stayed in room number nine, spaciously equipped with air conditioner, free internet and, for guests staying a little longer, on-the-house bottles of purified water.

Our window and hammock on the balcony boasted a stunning view of San Agustinillo beach. In the mornings we were wakened by the soft sounds of the ocean waves on the beach below, in the afternoon, we could put our hand out and almost touch a passing hawk or frigate bird as they glided past our private balcony. At dusk, we took the short walk down the hotel’s wooden stairs down to the quiet, secluded beach and swam in the warm water and watched the pelicans feeding in the ocean.

Rose runs a quiet, yet highly efficient hotel. The staff was always respectful of our privacy and our needs. Whenever we needed anything, it was attended to immediately. Consequently, unlike many less personal accommodations, we felt our needs were important and that our comfort and contentment mattered. Rose really has managed to create an intimate, family feel to her hotel. It isn’t long before you really feel that you belong there. And that is one of the reasons why it is hard to leave.

Rose, a Tex-Mex, is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has excellent knowledge of the area. Whether you want to head out somewhere for the day or take longer trips, you receive clear, easy-to-grasp directions as well as insider tips to get the most out of your day.

Although there are many reasons to visit Mazunte, the highlight of our time there was staying at the Hotel Arigalan and being in the company of Rose and her staff. I confess to being reluctant to unveiling Arigalan to the on-line world since a part of me wants to keep this hidden secret all to myself, however, the better part of me believes this is too good a find not to share.

I thoroughly recommend checking out this outstanding, yet surprisingly affordable gem!

Rose,

Last night I was talking to a friend about our time in Mazunte/San Augustinillo. (By the way, as you can probably tell I am a realambassador for Posada Arigalan) When I was done telling him about our time there he said "you know you still have a glow on your face from that vacation" I said "I know I do". So the glow of it all lingers.

Gracias por todo,
Jeff

Hola Rose,

Thank you for our stay at Arigalan in Mazunte. it was marvelous. As you should know we stayed one night longer. We enjoyed the apartment and especially the sea view from it. The weather was quite good during our stay and we enjoyed Mazunte and neighbouring places, and especially the food. AND, we want to come back there in one year! I am going to spread the word about your place among some people I know here in Poland so that they could come to Arigalan, as well.

Hola Rose,

What a special treat to wake up this Christmas morning in beautiful, sunny Mazunte and especially Posada Arigalan. It almost beat out our anniversary of a few days ago, which as you know, we also celebrated at Arigalan. What an absolute dream to awake to the sun filtering through the gauze curtains on the French doors leading on to the patio with its huge vistas of the ocean lapping on the beach, giant seabirds soaring overhead, the cool sea breeze cooling our skin, the palm trees swaying, the mountains looming majestically in the distance. Posada Arigalan is truly a slice of heaven.

Hola Rose,

We really enjoyed the view from our room, kindness of your staff, also the lovely cat and dog during our stay at Arigalan. The cleanliness and beautifull flowers, wonderful sunrise and sunset linger in our memory. That's why we are going to come back next year with our friends.
Also, it was great for us to meet Bill and Barbara during our stay. They are such a great people and it was one the high light of our trip. We hope to meet you again some day, Rose.
